He is my first experience of a PT and I couldn't have asked for better.

Whilst enquiring about him, he sent me a Whatsapp video explaining who he is, what he does and how he can best help achieve my goals - It was great to have that personal touch from the get go.

He would always be around to help me, improve my form whilst ensuring that I am eating the best foods for me.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I have used personal trainers before but have found James to be a perfect balance between holding me to account, which I need, and being understanding when I am not on track.

The feedback is focused on my progress and I feel James wants me to do well, which is odd to say but gives me more motivation.

James is also always available if I need any clarification on my plan or if I am struggling he will just modify the plan to get me where I need to be.

James also does video analysis of my exercises, which are really useful and helps me understand the macanics of the exercises. I pretty much get a PB when I implement the changes.

I haven't been been this weight in over a decade and I feel great.

This guy is quite possibly the most patient and equally understanding PT I have ever worked with. He knew exactly when to push me and when to ease off. The bespoke training and nutritional advice I got was absolutely perfect for me and with enough dedication and determination he helped me find a whole new pathway to just getting fitter and healthier in its most basic level.

The key thing with James is that he understands that life gets in the way, that it isn't always realistic to expect to give 100% 100% of the time. He's quick to respond to any questions too, be they big or small. James was always there at the end of a voice message or text for just the right kind of support you needed. And just to add more depth to the guy, he's been truly supportive from a mental health point too. If anyone has ever struggled with their weight will understand this and it sometimes felt like James knew exactly when to say the right things and the most perfect times. Often I'd sometimes get a check-in from him that timed perfectly. Other times, as mentioned previously, life got in the way, but James was ever supportive throughout.

Thanks a million again James, and to those reading this, do.not.hesitate. Give this guy a call, you really have nothing to lose and EVERYTHING to gain.

James really helped me kick some excess weight and get into a groove of going to the gym, which I'd never really done before, and taking more care over my diet. He has a very grounded approach - no quackery or fads, just solid nutrition and training advice applied to your individual needs and situation. The Onside PT app is really easy to use and it syncs with other fitness and tracking apps which is handy. James is really friendly and encouraging. Obviously online training is different to an in-person PT but I felt that it was more holistic, covering more a lot more than a weekly PT session might. For those looking for a user-friendly training programme with accountability and support as you go, I would certainly recommend James.

I've always been very skinny and underweight, I was struggling with gaining weight and muscle and worrying about confidence, self-esteem,anxiety and was scared of going to the gym. I was looking everywhere to try and find the perfect way to fix it. I found that all the information on the internet, all the gym apps I downloaded were all made for people trying to lose weight and not gain weight, this made me feel really lost and worried about what to do next but luckily I found JC (OnsidePT).

I've been training with JC for around 6 months now and it's been some of the best months of my life. He has a heavily customizable approach to training, nutrition and all aspects of the health journey which make it super easy for any newcomer like myself to achieve their goals. With constant feedback and suggestions, it always feels like he's doing more than just his job because he actually cares for the outcome and well-being of his clients.
I needed to workout at home, he accommodated, worried about my form on an exercise, he taught me the correct way to do it, I was struggling for many weeks getting the form on a particular exercise, he replaced that with something I'd prefer that still targeted the same muscles. This approach to make the workout as appealing for the client is what I really love, it's never too much trouble to switch things around to make sure that you enjoy the overall experience.
I've now gone from pressing 20kg on my office floor to an actual gym pressing 45kg on a barbell and bench, JC sets you up so you always feel like you're equipped to tackle the whole fitness space, and it never feels like he holds information back, if he knows it (and he knows a lot) and it'll help, he'll let you know.
The OnsidePT app that JC uses is incredibly useful at tracking all food through linking to myfitnesspal, tracking weight changes and tracking all your workouts, exercises and exactly when and how to do them. You even get a nice notification when you complete a certain amount of workouts or beat your personal bests which is always rewarding. This makes the whole experience that much easier and more fun, it also means JC can constantly see how your workouts are going, and keep in touch about it. Including feedback every week to keep you on track with your goals.
Having a person to hold me accountable, constantly keep me pushing but understanding that everyone is human and has off days is just what I needed to help me feel comfortable going forward with my more healthy life. I reccomend JC to anyone, he will help change your life around what ever fitness problems you're facing and encourage you to be an even better person overall, while being a great dude to just have a chat too aswell in-between your sessions. If you're questioning whether or not to get a personal trainer. Invest in yourself by investing in JC because you're sure to see improvements across so many areas and really enjoy yourself doing so.

I'm always really happy with the training, I feel like I'm getting stronger and fitter but also really engaged because the sessions are well thought out and varied. I'm learning a lot throughout the journey too, the nutrition support and the weekly further reading has been great at helping me grow and develop on my own.
